Local residents have said a resounding "NO! to the plans for a massive new Tesco super store in Bexleyheath and to the shake up of local health services in the recent residents' survey conducted by Oliver Brooks and the local Liberal Democrats.

Oliver Brooks, the Liberal Democrat candidate for the council by-election here on 3rd July, said: "It is clear that there is massive public opinion against these changes, it is time that local people were listened to by the planners. The PFI contracts for the Queen Elizabeth in Woolwich and the Princess Royal in Bromley, introduced by both Conservative and Labour governments, have been draining our local health services of cash that should be spent on providing quality health care for local people.

"Local residents clearly believe that we don't need a new giant megastore, especially given the large ASDA and the nearby Sainsburys. Our roads will struggle and local businesses will be damaged."
